Cadet Staff Applications are now open for Minnesota Leadership Academy (MLA).  This year’s dates are Oct 18-22.  (Note the Wednesday start date.) Deadline for cadet staff applications is August 11. Application and information is here.

Student applications are not open yet.  I expect them to open in mid-late August. Register at your earliest opportunity to secure your place. For now save the dates.

This event is over MEA School Break. All cadets are encouraged to attend as students at the appropriate school.  If you’ve completed all schools at MLA, you have the opportunity to apply as cadet staff.

Why this event is important to you as a cadet

There are 3 schools:

Airman Training School (ATS) – This school is for cadets who have not yet attended Encampment.  You’ll learn foundations of Civil Air Patrol, go on tours, and more.

Non-Commissioned Officers School (NCOS) – This school is for cadets who have graduated from Encampment. NCOS is the next step in your leadership training.  You’ll learn how to drill a flight, how to give a speech and teach classes, and more.

Basic Cadet Officers Course (BCOC) – This school is ideal for senior NCOs or junior officers.  Ideally, you should have completed NCOS and be prepared to tackle the advanced content of indirect leadership. How to mentor, how to lead, how to plan, etc.

Anoka’s goal is to have 50 members at MLA either as staff or students. This activity is unique to MNWG. Take advantage of this training opportunity to continue to be the very best you can be.
