Visiting the JMO
When visiting the observatory, DO NOT come through the school.
Park in the north lot, south of 111th Ave N, on Yates Ave N.
The observatory is located behind Jackson Middle School in a separate building.
From 610, take the exit for Zane Ave and head north. Zane becomes Douglas Drive. Continue past 109th Ave N, and take a right on 113 Ave N. One block past the stop sign, take a right on Yates and follow Yates into the north parking lot.
From 169, head east on 109th Ave N and take a left on Douglas Drive. Head north three blocks and take a right on 113 Ave N. Now heading east, one block past the stop sign, take a right on Yates and follow Yates south into the north parking lot.
Coordinates of the parking lot are: 45.155098 N, 93.354927 W
Park in the north parking lot behind the school. As you enter the parking lot, you will see the silver dome of the observatory to the southeast. Walk along the sidewalk from the lot to the observatory. Enter the south door of the observatory building, which faces the school. Please knock if the door is locked.
Dress for the weather. The classroom is heated but can be a little chilly. The dome where the telescope is mounted is the same temperature as outside.
