2021 MNWG Encampment

2021 MNWG Encampment Information (current as of 1.10.21)

Website: www.mncadetprograms.org

What is Encampment?

Encampment is an intense, week-long training program providing foundational training for Civil Air Patrol cadets.  Encampment credit is required to become a cadet officer and earn the Mitchell Award.*

What is Encampment Preparatory School (EPS)?

EPS is a weekend experience to give cadets a taste of what Encampment will be like. EPS is required for cadets to attend MNWG Encampment IF the cadet will be 13 or younger AND hold less than C/SSgt grade at the time of Encampment.

To apply for EPS, a cadet must be a C/Amn in eServices.

Where is Encampment and EPS held?

Camp Ripley near Little Falls, MN.

All cadets are recommended to attend Encampment at their earliest opportunity.

Encampment Dates:  June 26-July 3 (Sat-Sat)
Encampment Preparatory School: June 4-6 (Fri-Sun)

What are the costs?

Encampment Prep School historically has been ~ $40.
Encampment has been ~ $200.  However there is funding for first time attendees through the Cadet Encampment Assistance Program (CEAP)

What is the Cadet Encampment Assistance Program?

CEAP is an Air Force Program to help cadet families attend Encampment. Nearly every cadet that has applied in advance has received full Encampment tuition and uniform assistance. The tuition is paid directly to the Wing.  No reimbursement process.  We expect CEAP to open applications in March.

This means cadets can attend Encampment for free with CEAP.

Are there any other requirements to attend Encampment?

Cadets must be C/Amn to apply as well as have full ABU/BDU and Blues uniforms.

Transportation to EPS and Encampment

It is the member’s responsibility to get to and from Camp Ripley.
For EPS, consider carpools. We’d need a parent to be carpool coordinator. See Maj Albright if interested.

For Encampment:

For a few years, Anoka parents have organized a bus charter to take the cadets up to Camp Ripley one-way.  This is a reasonable option given the number of Anoka cadets who need Encampment credit. However, this will be highly dependent on cadets registering for Encampment and committing to using a service like this. A parent coordinator would be needed to arrange this option.

Note: There is a formal graduation at the end of Encampment.

Parents may choose to attend and drive home with their cadet or arrange a carpool.

*COVID guidance and waivers for Mitchell will be published on gocivilairpatrol.com
